The training modules listed below are delivered via workshop.
Participants must attend a workshop face-to-face or via webinar via zoom. Depending on the module, workshops will be scheduled for 3 or 2.5 hours. Attendees will be informed about the training venue if the courses are delivered face-to-face.
Pre-Training questionnaire
Each module (except Psychiatry) includes a pre-training questionnaire that must be completed by the participants at least 48 hours before attending the Instructor-Led workshop.
Workshop

Case Studies
These case studies without answers are for the participant to review and consider before training. The trainer will go through them with the participant on the training day.
Assessment Task
The competency-based assessment will be completed in the attendee's own time after the training module has been delivered. The assessment task is available in the Learning Management System. The participant will receive instructions about accessing the platform after booking into the specific module. The assessment task must be downloaded, completed, and submitted for marking through the Learning Management System within four weeks after the workshop. Assessments will be marked within ten business days of receiving them. The assessment must be completed and deemed satisfactory to complete the module.

Description
This training module introduces Part 6 of the SIRA Motor Accident Guidelines: Permanent impairment and how they are to be used along with the American Medical Associations Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment 4th edition (AMA4) when assessing impairment in the New South Wales Motor Accident system. It also provides context regarding the legislation, entitlements for injured road users and requirements for practitioners prior to assessing permanent impairment.

This module provides guidance on methods when assessing permanent impairment of the upper extremity according to the American Medical Association’s Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment Fourth Edition, as modified by Part 6 of the SIRA Motor Accident Guidelines. It is a complex section that requires an organised approach with careful documentation of findings.

Description
This module provides guidance on methods when assessing permanent impairment of the central nervous system according to the American Medical Association’s Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment Fourth Edition, as modified by Part 6 of the SIRA Motor Accident Guidelines. Elements of the assessment of permanent impairment involving the peripheral nervous system can be found in relevant parts of the 'Upper extremity', 'Lower extremity' and 'Spine' sections.

Description
This module will cover permanent impairment assessment of psychiatric and psychological disorder/s according to the Psychiatric Impairment Rating Scale (PIRS) as set out in Part 6 of the SIRA Motor Accident Guidelines: Permanent impairment. The PIRS is used when assessing permanent impairment in both the NSW Motor Accident and Workers Compensation systems.
Note: If you have successfully completed the NSW workers compensation permanent impairment training for Psychiatric/Psychological disorders you do not need to undertake this training prior to applying to SIRA to be listed as a Health Practitioner Authorised to give evidence and be listed to assess permanent impairment in this module.
You must purchase this book to undertake any of the permanent impairment training in the Motor Accident system except for practitioners undertaking only the Mental and Behavioural Disorders module.
